Two best friends had their dreams come true in 2010 while taking a stroll in New York City according to The Style Line. A photographer from Women’s Wear Daily stopped Sarah Reid and Stacy Herzog-Berk to compliment their handmade friendship bracelets, which intertwined the colorful woven bands (that elicit a sense of summer camp nostalgia) with their grandmother’s vintage jewelry; when their creations made a splash with a half-page feature in the magazine, the orders came flooding in.
“Reuse, Repurpose, Reinvent” is the mantra of the creative ladies behind Frieda and Nellie, named after Stacy’s grandmothers. Their beautiful bracelets, necklaces, bangles, and more, are all hand-made and one-of-a-kind from their NYC-based showroom. Over the years, they have successfully created a cult following, and have been featured in prominent magazines including Vogue, Elle, and Cosmopolitan.
