The iconic “We Can Do It!” attributed to the rise of women in the workforce seen from 1940-1945 in the United States, and further encapsulated through the Rosie the Riveter campaign, has stormed back into the manufacturing industry. R. Riveter, the name behind a line of American handmade handbags and accessories, is owned and operated by military wives, with the sole mission of empowering other wives of the armed service. Riveters refers to the name given to each employee currently stationed across the U.S.
Launched from just outside Camp Merill in Dahlonega, Georgia, in 2011, the company has rapidly gained a following in the fashion community. In a true testament to their commitment to military support, each bag is crafted from recycled military materials and incorporates the traditional symbol of a yellow ribbon. With a range of products in various shapes, sizes and colors, R. Riveter provides an exemplary multi-purpose handbag. They also have leather dog collars, and various wallets and small accessories.
The company was also honored as a finalist in the Martha Stewart 2014 Martha Stewart Made In America Event and opened their first store in Southern Pines, NC.
