One of the most useful items found in homes and offices across the globe is manufactured right here in the United States. Post-it Notes are one of the most creative inventions in the past few decades yet they seem so simple.
The obvious yet brilliant inventions are the best kind of out there, and Art Fry was fortunate enough to be the first one to conjure up the idea of having handy notes to jot down information quickly. Fry created Post-It Notes in the mid 70s but they weren’t introduced to the public until 1980.
For over 30 years now, 3M has been manufacturing Post-It Notes in a plant in Cynthiana, Kentucky, and the company also produces Scotch Tape from the same plant. 3M is a great American-made company not only because they have stayed true to their roots in America, but also because they are a big supporter of the locals in the Cynthiana area. The 3M plant employs over 500 residents of the small town in Kentucky. 3M has also contributed to the keeping America clean in recent years by making their factor,y “green,” and using recycled home and office paper to make their Post-It Notes.
