Shut NYC operates right in the heart of the city in Manhattan and goes out of their way to support local board makers. They also work directly with many local charities, most notably, the Harold Hunter Foundation which “uses skateboarding as a vehicle to provide inner-city youth with valuable life experiences that nurture individual creativity, resourcefulness, and the development of life skills.” The foundation was founded for and named after the famous NYC skateboarder whose life was enriched through the skateboarding sport. Hunter was offered limitless opportunities to see the world and spread his love until his untimely death in 2006. Shut NYC is committed to helping provide amazing experiences to kids who are interested in skateboarding in partnership with this great foundation.
