In 1982, Mr. Ralph Teetor, inventor of “cruise control” seen in present day automobiles, embarked on a mission to domestically produce scientific toys to educate a younger generation. Mechanical gyroscopes, devices consisting of a wheel and a spin axle, where the best selling toys at the time, and became the centerpiece of TEDCO, Inc.
One of the more noteworthy products from their Made in America line is the Solar Balloon. A beautiful day can turn educational with this 50 foot solar powered technology, which demonstrates thermodynamics and convection, just two of many scientific facts incorporated into Tedco Toys’ mission. The team behind these toys also offers art supplies, contained mini-tornados, and modern day gyroscopes.
