One of the most common things we hear as Americans in a consumer world is that we need to buy American made products. It may seem cliché but it could not be more vital to our economy than right now. As Americans, it is our duty to buy domestically made goods for numerous reasons but the biggest reason is to improve our own economic standing.
Americans can assist their fellow skilled American workers, and the industries they work for– an essential factor for our nation’s overall economic recovery– by purchasing products made Stateside. America’s private industries are the lifeblood of our long-term financial standing, without their support we would never be able to solve the financial problems we face.
One of the biggest private industries we have in the United States is the car industry in Detroit, MI. Buying an American car, for example, is a great way to bring about a sense of pride in our country’s ability to produce amazing things. It is inevitable however, that some of the parts that American cars consist of come from overseas. But if we were to completely abandon the core of our manufacturing base, we will eventually become completely dependent upon foreign countries. Therefore, it is incredibly important to remain loyal to American cars manufacturers despite the cars not being 100% American.
The question American car buyers are faced with is this: do we pick a slightly higher-rated foreign car or an American car that helps support the entire nation? The best economic investment we can make is buying American products because the end result is incredibly important to America’s financial future.
